Owner Darris McDaniel and his core management crew worked literally around-the-clock for three weeks straight to get the former Ted’s Red Apple Market building mechanicals repaired, interior deep-cleaned and shelves fully stocked for the much-anticipated Feb. 6 opening of the new Westport Shop ‘n Kart supermarket at 108 S. Montesano St. in uptown Westport.
Since then, management and employees have continued to work long hours to keep the goods coming and customers satisfied.
With all internal systems up and running, McDaniel recently turned more of his attention to the exterior of the building.
A major step toward that end came last Thursday, Feb. 26, when Aberdeen’s Coastline Signs’ crane truck crew detached and lifted the huge two-piece Red Apple Market sign and the Ted’s apple logo off the building’s front facade, then hauled them off into history. Coastline is expected back today to lift the new Westport Shop ‘n Kart sign into place.
Maneman Electric of Raymond is handling the wiring work for the project.
