In every case, the vehicles were unlocked. Additionally, the keys to the stolen vehicle were left in the ignition. A Westport Police Department officer located the stolen vehicle at the corner of Cove Avenue and Neddie Rose Drive at 12:55 a.m. Thursday morning, Dec. 10.
In a communication with Grayland Neighborhood Block Watch members, Undersheriff David Pimentel said, “Let’s work to get the word out in the community to lock your vehicles and please don’t leave the keys in the ignition.”
According to Pimentel, extra deputies have been assigned to work the issue. He also encouraged citizens not to hesitate to report any and all suspicious behavior.
