Too many old ‘has beens’ and ‘wannabes’

In our Nov 2014 congressional elections, without question, the people voted they were not pleased with the President’s policies. Obama invited this vote by stating the up-coming elections will be a referendum on “my” policies. He was handed a resounding rejection, yet he has doubled down on the same policies. It should be very apparent our President and his administration are not providing any leadership, and our nation is drifting into a very dangerous state.

I don’t believe our president will act to protect our freedom, constitution or our safety. He refuses to recognize our enemy, the “radical Islamic terrorists”. His behavior is child-like.

Good news: I have been closely watching our newly elected representatives and senators and I see hope that they do have a positive attitude and the common sense to turn our nation around to once again be a nation of hope and leadership for the world.

Elections do have consequences. Obama was elected based upon his stated goal to change our nation as it is. Well, for sure he accomplished that, and the people in 2014 voted to reject those policies. Obama’s policies have placed us into the position of weakness we find ourselves in today.

Now we must insist that our elected representatives once again represent us and not themselves. We have a very large hole to dig out of. In 2016, we need to elect persons who first of all are proud of the United States, not an apologist, as Obama has been. As I see the line-up of Republicans and Democrats, there are too many old ‘has beens and wannabes.’ For sure, electing another idealist that has never managed anything would result in just what we have today. We need a new car smell. The same is true for the representatives and senators who will be up for reelection in 2016. We owe our children and grandchildren an opportunity to follow their dreams, not a mounting debt and one person’s obsession with political correctness and global warming.
