I want to send a very special thank you to Deb Blake of Harbor Rescue and her friend Marcy Merrill. They are two angels that live amongst us. They came to our home in North Cove and picked up our seven nearly three-month-old puppies, took them to Vetter’s Animal Hospital in Raymond and paid for all of their first shots, had all of them wormed and also treated for fleas.
After the trip to the vet, Deb brought the puppies back to our house. We kept two of them, which we named Teddy and Riley. My brother-in-law Jim and his girlfriend Linda kept one, which they named Brandy.
Deb took the other four puppies with her and assured me that Harbor Rescue will find good homes for all of them. She told me not only will she find homes for them, but will have them spayed and neutered before adoption. Before and after they are adopted, Harbor Rescue volunteers do home visits to make sure the puppies are healthy, happy and in a stable environment.
A few hours after Deb brought our bundles of joy back home to us, Marcy returned with a bag of dog food. The next evening she came back with more dog food and reminded us that Deb offered to have our dog Pearl, the puppies’ mother, spayed, which we plan to do with Deb’s help.
We were not aware that Harbor Rescue helps out those in need like they did with our family.
Thanks to our friend Leah who got in contact with Marcy and got the ball rolling. I cannot thank Deb, Marcy, Harbor Rescue volunteers and Vetter’s Animal Hospital enough for all their help with our furry friends.
There are far too many animals that are unwanted and I want to let others know that there is help out there if we are informed of it.
I applaud Harbor Rescue and all its volunteers for their kind hearts and love for animals. Jason and I are so appreciative for all of their help and generosity.
