At 3:42 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, our beloved home at 997 Blue Pacific Shores Drive in North Cove succumbed to the wind and waves of the mighty Pacific Ocean.
Resha and I had been living full time in North Cove for three and a half years and visiting our family property often for the past 30 years.
The waves were crashing up on the bank with spray and water rising over the gutters of our house. She fought until the end to stay standing in the high south winds. In the end, she fell in one piece – KABOOM – and by the next high tide, all that was left were splinters and memories of our family home.
The community has been wonderful, offering help and assistance in any way they could. We are blessed to know you all.
A memorial for 997 will be held some time in the future.
