On Monday, April 14, between 2 and 3 p.m. my dog was viciously attacked by four loose pit bulls while walking the beach at the end of Smith Anderson road. Two of the four pit bulls took my dog down by her throat and rear end while the others circled.
After screaming for what seemed like a long time, a woman ran up and pulled two of the pit bulls off as the two remaining dogs then got on my dog. A man came running shortly after and took the remaining two pit bulls away and the woman followed.
My dog suffered puncture wounds to her throat, rear end and stomach, which required medical attention. She was put on pain medication, antibiotics and could not get wet or be collared for a week.
Fortunately her wounds will heal and she is alive. But these are irresponsible dog owners who should never have had their dogs off leash and unmanaged.
A good Samaritan has reported the make, model and license plate number of a car carrying four pit bulls away from the attack area at the time. All information has been reported to Pacific County police.
What if this had been my two-year-old granddaughter or a child of yours? What if it had been your dog attacked?
These four pit bulls have no business ever being loose and their owners need to be accountable.
If you are reading this, you know who you are, I do not yet.
I want nothing from you except those four dogs gone, nothing else.
