GH Corvette meeting
May 1 - The next Grays Harbor Corvette Club meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, May 1, upstairs in the Aberdeen Top Foods meeting area.
All Corvette owners are welcome and encouraged to attend GH Corvette Club meetings. Come and check us out as we prepare for this summer’s Corvette runs, Corvette shows, and the club’s annual big, local show, ‘Vettes at the Marina’ in Westport set for Aug. 16, this year in conjunction with the annual Westport Art Festival.
The club meets the first Thursday of each month.

Victorian Tea and Gift Shop
May 3 - St. Andrews Church will host its annual Victorian Tea and Gift Shop on Saturday, May 3. The gift shop opens at 1:30 p.m. with tea being served from 2-4 p.m.
Bring a friend, daughter, granddaughter or neighbor to St. Andrews at First and G Streets in Aberdeen and enjoy a wonderful English experience of cucumber sandwiches, scones, tea and much more.
Tickets are $15 per person.

Ocosta Booster Club
May 5 – The Ocosta Booster Club will meet on Monday, May 5, at 6 p.m., in the Ocosta High School library. All South Beach citizens interested in our schools are invited to attend.
The booster club provides financial support for athletic and academic programs, sports banquets, individual camps, state competitions, sports equipment and scholarships for students at Ocosta Jr/Sr High.
The club usually meets the first Monday of every month.
School Family Movie Night
May 9 – The last Community movie night of the year will be next Friday evening, May 9, with a showing of “Rio” at 6:30 p.m. in the Ocosta Elementary multipurpose room.. Doors open at 6 p.m. and concessions will be sold. There is a Mother’s day raffle with tickets selling for $1. If anyone would like to donate to the basket or has questions, call Nichole at 360- 271-9147.
Senior House Bingo Tuesdays
May 6 - Bingo is played every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Westport South Beach Senior House. The first two cards are free and each one after that costs 25 cents. Play generally lasts until 2:30 p.m.
The Senior House is located at 214 E. Pacific Ave in uptown Westport.
Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
May 7 - The next regularly scheduled meeting of the City of Westport Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is set for Wednesday, May 7, at 12:30 p.m. in Westport City Council Chambers at 506 N. Montesano St.
The committee studies options and considers submitted proposals for using the 5% excise taxes collected in the city each year that are earmarked for tourism promotion, and then makes recommendations to the City Council for specific expenditures approval.
The meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome to attend the meetings.
Grayland Fire
May 7 - Grayland Fire Department volunteers (GHFD#11) meet and train every Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at the fire hall located at 1785 State Route 105, Grayland. New members welcome. If interested, stop by the station for information.
The board meeting is held on the first Wednesday every month at 5:30 pm.
Volunteers needed. The public always welcome to attend.
“Fiddler on the Roof”
May 9 - The Grayland Players will present six performances of the multiple Tony Award winning musical, “Fiddler on the Roof”, at the historic Grayland Hall with opening night set for Friday, May 9.
Directed by Carolyn Barker, “Fiddler on the Roof” will be performed Fridays and Saturdays, May 9, 10, 16 and 17, with the curtain going up at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances are on Sunday, May 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.
Library - Mother’s Day Cupcakes
May 10 - For children 3-9 years. Drop in and decorate a cupcake for Mom and one for yourself. Supplies provided by the Friends of the Westport Timberland Library.
Library - Readers Group
May 16 – 11 a.m.-noon, for adults. Read or listen to “The Bridge of San Luis Rey” by Thornton Wilder and join your friends and neighbors in a lively discussion.
Library - Family Feature Film
May 17 - 1-3 p.m., for all ages. Take out the trash, eat your broccoli-who needs moms, anyway? Find out what one nine-year-old learns about that! Popcorn provided by the Friends of the Westport Timberland Library.
Driftwood Children’s Theatre presents “Aladdin”
May 21 - Driftwood Children’s Theatre and Stevens PTSO present the musical “Aladdin” on Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. This show will feature K-6th grade children from Stevens Elementary School.
“Aladdin” will run approximately 30-45 minutes with an intermission and a presentation of a Musical Review. Admission is free.
Library closed
May 23 - The Westport Timberland Library will be closed Friday, May 23, for staff training. The library will resume its regular schedule Saturday, May 24.
CG ‘Run to Remember’ 5K run/walk
May 24 - Coast Guard Station Grays Harbor crew will host a ‘Run to Remember’ 5K run/walk fundraiser in Westport Saturday, May 19. The event honors fallen members of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Each $25 entry fee goes directly to the Coast Guard Foundation Fallen Heroes Scholarship Program. Because this is a fundraiser for scholarships, there will be no ribbons, certificates or prizes.
Register by May 5 to receive a shirt the day of the run. If you don’t want to run/walk, a $25 donation will get you a Run to Remember T-shirt.

Blessing of the Fleet

May 26 - All Timberland libraries will be closed Monday, May 26 for the Memorial Day holiday. Libraries will resume regular schedules Tuesday, May 27.
VFW Memorial Day Service
May 26 - Join local military organizations and military fraternities as they honor those lost in battle at a brief, but moving ceremony held at Veterans Memorial Park at the Street of Flags - 1800 S.
