Coalition for Infrastructure

March 26 - The Grays Harbor Coalition for Infrastructure will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Furford Gathering Center behind former Baskin Robins at 104 S. Chehalis St., in Aberdeen. Topics: Reports from Future of Railroads conference and progress on proposed oil facilities moratorium in Hoquiam.

The group meets every Thursday evening.

Preschool Story Time

March 20 - 11:30 a.m.-noon, for children ages 3 to 6. Join in a program of stories, rhymes, songs and movement games. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join in.

Readers Group

March 20 - 10-11:00 a.m., for adults. Read or listen to “Enders Game” by Orson Scott Card and join your friends and neighbors in a lively discussion.

Read and Sing Aloud

March 26-28 - Visit the library between now and March 28. Children who SING a nursery rhyme or the ABC song to their librarian will receive a set of stickers! This event is part of the Family Read & Sing Aloud, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

March 27 - for children. Bring a favorite stuffed animal for a sleepover at the library. Tuck your animal in and say goodnight. Come back the next day to pick up your stuffed animal friend and find out what mischief the animals got into during their night at the library! This event is part of Family Read & Sing Aloud, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.

Community BINGO night

March 27 – The Ocosta Elementary School Parent/Teacher Organization will host a Community BINGO Night March 27. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with BINGO played from 6-8 p.m.

You may purchase three cards for $5 or one for $2 that are good for 20 games.

Concessions will be sold and those planning to attend may pre-order pizza.

The PTO could use more volunteers and/or prize donations. If you have questions, donations, want to pre-order pizza or would like to volunteer to help, call 580-1897.

Grays Harbor Dems

April 2 - The Grays Harbor Democratic Party Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Polish Club, 823 West First Street, Aberdeen. The group meets the first Thursday of each month except on holidays.

GH Corvette meeting

April 7 - The next Grays Harbor Corvette Club meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. upstairs in the Aberdeen Top Foods meeting area.

All Corvette owners are welcome and encouraged to attend. The club meets the first Tuesday of each month.

SBCO Board meeting

April 7 - The monthly South Beach Christian Outreach (SBCO) board meeting is held at 3:30 p.m. at Living Hope Church, located at 617 S. Forrest St. in uptown Westport.

Anyone interested in learning more about how SBCO helps neighbors in need in our community or volunteering to help is welcome to attend. The organization is currently looking for two new board members. The board meets the first Tuesday of each month. Elections are in June.

Parks & Rec meeting

April 7 - South Beach Parks & Recreation District commission members meet at 6 p.m. at the Grayland Community Hall. The District owns and manages the Grayland Community Hall and its surrounding grounds.

All community members residing within the boundaries of the Ocosta School District are automatically members of the Parks & Recreation District. Public attendance at meetings, participation and suggestions are encouraged and welcomed.

The commissioners meet the first Tuesday of each month.

Outreach Spaghetti Dinner

April 7 - South Beach Christian Outreach (SBCO) will offer a fundraising spaghetti dinner at Living Hope Church, located at 617 S. Forrest St. in uptown Westport.

The menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, salad and bread. Dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

A $5 donation is requested to help defray the cost of your meal and to help neighbors in need on the South Beach.

These spaghetti fundraisers are offered the first Tuesday of each month.

Lodging Tax Committee meeting

April 8 - The regularly scheduled meeting of the City of Westport Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Westport City Council Chambers at 506 N. Montesano St.

The committee studies options and considers submitted proposals for using the 5% excise taxes collected in the city each year that are earmarked for tourism promotion, and then makes recommendations to the City Council for specific expenditures approval.

The meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome to attend the meetings.

Experimental Aircraft

April 8 - Grays Harbor Chapter 367 of the Experimental Aircraft Assn. will meet at the Simpson Ave. Grill in Hoquiam next to Swanson’s. Dinner at 6 p.m. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Pilots’ Lounge at Bowerman Field. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month.

South Beach Fire & EMS Board

April 9 - The South Beach Fire and EMS Board meets in Westport City Council chambers on the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend.

Monthly Writers Group

April 11 - South Beach Writers Group meets from Noon to 2 p.m. in the Westport library meeting room for writers high school age and older.

Bring an excerpt to read: Poem, short story, blog or book chapter. The goal is to inspire and encourage fellow writers. New members always welcome.

The group meets the second Saturday of each month. More info: 268-0081

Art Journaling group

April 11 - An art journaling group meets from 10 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturday each month at the South Beach Arts Center at 188 W. Ocean Ave.

The group is open to everyone with no obligation to attend each month. Just pay $7 each session. All share resources, techniques, tips, and tricks.

Ocosta Booster Club

April 13 - Due to school spring break, the Ocosta Booster Club monthly meeting will be on Monday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m., in the Ocosta High School library. All South Beach citizens interested in our schools are invited to attend.

The booster club provides financial support for athletic and academic programs, sports banquets, individual camps, state competitions, sports equipment and scholarships for students at Ocosta Jr/Sr High.

Grayland Children’s Hospital Guild

April 16 - The Grayland Children’s Hospital Guild will meet at 11 a.m. at South Beach Presbyterian Church on SR105, a quarter-mile south of the Grayland ‘T’. New members always welcome. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month with the exception of July, August and December.

Pacific County Dems meet

April 13 - Pacific County Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pacific County Courthouse Annex, 1216 W. Robert Bush Drive in South Bend.

The group meets in South Bend on the second Monday of February, April, June, October and December, with its annual picnic in July.

Fire District #3 commissioners

April 14 - Grays Harbor Fire District #3 commissioners’ monthly meetings are held at Old Westport City Hall at 506. N. Montesano St. in uptown Westport. Use the door next to the former Police Department entrance.

Tokeland/North Cove Chamber

April 14 – The Tokeland/North Cove Chamber of Commerce board will meet this month at Bayshore RV Park in Tokeland at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited. Refreshments will be served.

All individuals interested in the community, whether you are a business owner or not, are welcome to come and express your ideas and share your community needs.

The organization meets on the second Tuesday of each month.

Tokeland & North Cove Art Studio Tour

April 18 - Artists living and working in Tokeland and North Cove will offer free private studio tours and art displays at the Tokeland Hotel, Bayshore RV Park and the Shoalwater Bay Tribal Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
