Thank you Mr. Darris McDaniel and your wife Shirley for opening your new store here in Westport. You don’t know what a joy it is not to drive all the way into Aberdeen or Raymond for a gallon of milk.
Thank you also, for keeping your word about hiring local talent. It’s a pleasure being ‘checked out’ again by Lori, Daisy, Jessica, Julie and the rest of those happy faces.
You rehired Michelle who has organized a produce department that rivals Safeway. I forgot how fresh produce could be.
The best cooks in Westport are Renee & Marci, and you found them both for your Deli.
Your only import, Mr. Jon Klacik, was an excellent move as new floor manager. I have never seen that man stand still for one second or not smiling. Welcome to our beloved town, Mr. Klacik, and I hope you have many good years here.
Your store manager, Mr. Robert Allen, was another genius move. His idea of installing an additional rack on top of the existing shelves for added inventory gives us more options than we ever had.
I have been a customer at this store since it was across the parking lot and called Ron’s. then again in your current building called Ted’s Red Apple, then simply Red Apple. I have never seen such a clean store.
The old expression, “you can eat off the floor,” more than describes its condition.
On behalf of our little coastal community, I am one of hundreds who took our supermarket for granted until it closed last year and probably one of hundreds more who say “thank you,” to Shop ‘n Kart.
I can’t wait until you receive your new checkout counters and be assured, you will see me behind one of them bagging my own groceries as I have done for the past 35-plus years.
In the immortal words of the late great Hollywood film legend, Mr. Spock, “May you live long and prosper.”
