The South Beach Arts Association opened an exhibit of nearly 200 artworks in various media in a 5”x7” format at the John Spellman Library on the campus of Grays Harbor College on June 12.

Fundraiser for art education

Members of the local arts association and other regional artists produced and donated their works in support of arts education on the South Beach, with each one for sale at $20.

The opening reception was well attended and a good percentage of the works were sold. All artwork will remain on display through Aug. 13, with those sold marked with a red dot.

Remaining art for sale

Those who visit the exhibit during regular library hours between now and Aug. 13 may purchase any of the remaining available artworks. Each one has a nearby label identifying the artist by name and his/her work by number.

Once you have visited the exhibit and have decided to purchase one or more pieces, contact Arts Association member Connie Newton at 360- 591-2761 with art piece number(s) and method of payment.

After payment is made, your purchase(s) will be marked with a red dot, denoting that it has sold and will be available to you after the show closes.

Getting there

The John Spellman library is the first building on your left as you enter the campus from the parking lot. The art display is on the walls of the entry hall, as well as on the mezzanine up the steps at the end of the hall. Climb the remaining steps up to the second floor to enjoy a collection of Ocosta Elementary School art in the same 5”x7” format on the second floor foyer. The children’s works are not for sale.

The library is open Monday through Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
