‘Caldwell is an asset to the Port’

I urge you to support Chuck Caldwell for Port Commissioner. I have known Chuck for 15 years, and in that time, I have grown to respect him tremendously both as a person and as a business owner.

More importantly, over the last 11 years as a Port Commissioner, he has been involved in an enormous amount of growth and expansion for the Port of Grays Harbor.

Two things stand out to me when I think about Chuck. The first is his caring and passionate nature when it comes to Grays Harbor and the people who live in our county. He is one of the first to help someone in need, and he works tirelessly to make Grays Harbor a better place to live. He was an integral part of making Friends Landing a reality to both create a handicap accessible park, as well as preserve a natural setting for visitors of all ages to enjoy for years to come.

The second is Chuck’s unwavering commitment to look at all sides of an issue and patiently make a decision. In all the time I have known him, I have never seen Chuck jump to a conclusion. He unwaveringly seeks information from multiple sources to make the most informed decision he can.

As a Port Commissioner, Chuck has used that approach to help create jobs, bring in businesses and preserve Grays Harbor for future generations.

When I think I of Chuck, I am reminded of the Warren Buffett quote, “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago.”

Chuck has been thinking of others his entire life and working to make our community a better place. Chuck Caldwell is an asset to the Port and we will all benefit from his continued contributions.
