Janice C. Sherman

Longtime Westport resident, Janice Christine Sherman, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She was 84. Janice was born July 14, 1930 in Cherokee, North Carolina to Perry and Ethel (Arwood) Bradley. She was raised in Robbinsville, North Carolina and graduated from Robbinsville High School.

Janice had also lived in Seattle area in the late 1950s, Auburn, Alaska and Arizona. She worked in a drug store for many years in Auburn and also worked in child care in Renton.

Janice was a member of the South Beach Presbyterian Church in Westport. She was a homemaker and loved dogs and had many in her life including Babe, Dino, Trixie and Sam. Janice was always very willing to help her family and friends.

Janice is survived by her companion Mel Preston of Grayland, Wash., her loving son Steven (Pamela) White of Sun City, Arizona, brother Jack Bradley of Kent, Wash., two grandchildren, Lawrence and Stacey White and great granddaughter Haile C. Contreras. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Max Bradley.
