New liquor and cigar store opens inside Shoalwater Bay Casino

Willapa Bay Enterprises, a corporation owned by the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, officially opened its new liquor and specialty cigar store – SMOKES ‘N SPIRITS at Shoalwater Bay – in Tokeland last Thursday, Jan. 12, with an afternoon ribbon cutting ceremony.

Tucked into the southeast corner of the Shoalwater Bay Casino on SR105 near Tokeland, a nice variety of bottled spirits is available at highly competitive prices advertised at “10% to 30% lower than most” that don’t include additional state liquor sales taxes added at the register.

Cigars

A state-of-the-art humidor at the back of the store is filled with more than three dozen cigar varieties. Single smoke prices range from a $3 Foundry Chillin Moose Mad Robusto to a top-of-the-line Cohiba Macassar Toro Gran for $19. Cigars are also available by the box.

Cigarettes, beer &wine

Cigarette sales are available at the casino’s gift shop near the main entrance, with beer and wine for sale across the street at the tribe’s Georgetown Station and Deli.

Ribbon cutting

Willapa Bay Enterprise Board Treasurer Jamie Judkins welcomed visitors to the ribbon cutting, noting that, “This store has not been an easy process to bring to fruition, but with the with the support of our Tribal Council, the state Liquor Control Board and some outside-of-the-box thinking by our administration, we’ve accomplished it.

“By outside-of-the-box, I mean that we have the only liquor store located within a casino, and, as a mom, my personal favorite about that is that the liquor is out of sight of our children.”

Open hours

SMOKE ‘N SPIRITS is open Sunday through Thursday noon to 11:30 p.m. and from noon to 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
