OLYMPIA – Sen. Brian Hatfield, D-Raymond, will serve as the ranking Democrat on the Senate Agriculture, Water and Rural Economic Development and Natural Resources & Parks committees when the 2015 legislative session begins in January.
“I’m looking forward to working with the chair of the House Agricultural and Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Brian Blake,” said Hatfield. “We are excited to work hard to ensure the voice of rural Washington is heard. It is crucial that we take a smart approach to protecting our agricultural and natural resources in our state.”
Hatfield will also continue to serve on the Senate Ways and Means Committee, the panel tasked with reviewing Washington’s finances and making key budget decisions.
Hatfield serves the 19th District, which includes part or all of several counties, including Pacific, Grays Harbor, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum and the southwest part of Lewis County.
