Come Run or Walk for the Grays Harbor Lighthouse this Saturday

The 9th Annual Run/Walk 4 the Light race is set for this Saturday, May 16, in Westport’s Marina District.

Day-of-race registration is from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the Westport Maritime Museum, with the race starting at 10 a.m. Awards presentations and raffle drawings will be at noon.

Course route

The scenic, flat course starts and finishes at the historic Westport Maritime Museum overlooking Grays Harbor. The 5-mile course goes north on Nyhus, Wilson and Forrest Streets to Ocean Ave. then west on Ocean to the Lighthouse Dune Trail, north along the ocean to Westhaven Drive and then down Westhaven back to the Maritime Museum.

Four-footed friends added

New this year, race organizers have added a Dog & Owner entry that is available on Day of Registration only. A prize will be awarded to the first runner’s dog and the first walker’s dog bringing their owner across the line.

Day-of-Race Registration is $35 with T-shirts included while supplies last.

A family discount is available. Please email the Race Director for your discount code and include your family members’ ages in your email.

Lighthouse preservation

Run/Walk 4 the Light is sponsored by the Westport South Beach Historical Society for the benefit of Grays Harbor Lighthouse restoration. Standing at 107 feet, the Grays Harbor lighthouse is the tallest in Washington and the third tallest on the West Coast, marking the entrance to Grays Harbor.
