An article in the April 28 edition of the South Beach Bulletin incorrectly identified Dave Smith as the sole winner of last year’s Westport Charterboat Association Halibut Derby.
Missoula, Montana resident Jeremy Spinler matched Smith’s 70-pounder with one of his own for a tie in the contest. The two split the $1,000 Grand Prize pot. The each also won a $500 Daily Halibut Derby prize.
Smith fished on the Hula Girl and Spinler on the Gold Rush.
