LEGO® Club
May 13 - 3:30-4:30 p.m., for children. Explore your creativity, exercise your brain and have fun building with LEGO® bricks at the library. The club meets the second Friday of the month.

May 14 - South Beach Writers Group meets from Noon to 2 p.m. in the Westport library meeting room for writers high school age and older.
Bring an excerpt to read: Poem, short story, blog or book chapter. The goal is to inspire and encourage fellow writers. New members always welcome.

May 14 - Meet upstairs at the Hoquiam Timberland Library at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.
Grayland Children’s Hospital Guild
May 19 - The Grayland Children’s Hospital Guild will meet at 11 a.m. South Beach Presbyterian Church on SR105, a quarter-mile south of the Grayland ‘T’. New members always welcome. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month with the exception of July, August and December.

May 20 - 10-11 a.m., for adults. Read or listen to “Astoria: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson’s Lost Pacific Empire,” by Peter Stark and join your friends and neighbors in a lively discussion.
Tokeland/North Cove Chamber garage sale
May 20, 21, 22 - The Tokeland/North Cove Chamber of Commerce will host its annual garage sale to raise money for the Tokeland Independence Day Parade Friday, Saturday May 20, 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Willapa Grange Hall. The hall is located at 3198 Hwy 105, at the corner of Jacobson Road and SR 105 south of Grayland.
Clean serviceable donations will be accepted May 17-20 at the hall.
PSA Ocean Anglers
May 21 - PSA Ocean Anglers will meet at 6 p.m. at McCausland Hall in Westport’s Marina District. The guest speaker will be Greg Mueller of the Washington Trollers Assoc. He will discuss trolling for salmon, color choices and lures. All welcome. More info: 425- 328-8558
Tobacco cessation event
May 25 - The Shoalwater Bay Tribe will host a free tobacco cessation event called ‘Break the Chain’ starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the Shoalwater Bay Wellness Center. All community members interested in learning more about becoming tobacco free are invited to attend. Dinner will be provided.
The Wellness Center is located at 2373 Tokeland Rd. at the south end of the Tribal Center parking lot.
Broomstick Pool
May 26 – Broomstick Pool fun returns to the Local Bar & Grill in Grayland the last Thursday of every month, starting at 1 p.m. It costs $3 to play, with the pot split among the top finishers.
American Legion
May 26 - Westport American Legion Post #140 and its Ladies Auxiliary will meet in the VFW Youth Center for a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. meeting. The Youth Center is located behind the VFW Post Home at 211 E. Pacific Ave. in Westport.
Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month February through November.
Blessing of the Fleet

VFW Memorial Day Service
May 30 - Join local military organizations and military fraternities as they honor those lost in battle at a brief, but moving ceremony held at Veterans Memorial Park at the Street of Flags - 1800 S. Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)
June 1 - The regularly scheduled meeting of the City of Westport Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Westport City Council Chambers at 506 N. Montesano St. the first Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome to attend the meetings.
The committee studies options and considers submitted proposals for using the 5% excise taxes collected in the city each year that are earmarked for tourism promotion, and then makes recommendations to the City Council for specific expenditures approval.

Grayland Neighborhood Watch
June 2 - Members of Grayland Neighborhood Watch and all other interested South Beach citizens will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, at the Grayland Community Hall this month. All South Beach citizens are invited to attend. Guest speakers: Shoalwater Bay Tribe Police Chief Matt Sowers and Shoalwater Bay Tribal Chairwoman Charlene Nelson, sharing information about the Tokeland North Cove Neighborhood Watch group.

GH County Dems
June 2 - The Grays Harbor Democratic Party Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Polish Club, 823 West First Street, Aberdeen. The group meets the first Thursday of each month except on holidays.

Westport Best Friends Day
June 4 - The City of Westport has proclaimed itself as the Dog Friendliest Beach in the State. To commemorate this we have scheduled an annual event… “Best Friends Day” to celebrate the special bond between dogs and their families. The second annual gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westport Maritime Museum. Bring your four-footed best friend for a great time.
Westport/South Beach Senior Center
June 6 - Monthly board meetings are held at 1 p.m. the first Monday of each month at 114 E. Pacific Ave. in uptown Westport. All seniors 55 and older and living in the Ocosta School District are welcome and urged to attend. Lunch is served at noon Monday through Friday. Bingo is played every Tuesday after lunch.
VFW Men’s Auxiliary
June 6 - Westport South Beach VFW Post #3057 Men’s Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. in the VFW Post Home in Westport. All Men’s Auxiliary members and potential members are encouraged to attend. The group meets the first Monday of each month.
Parks & Rec meeting
June 6 - South Beach Parks & Recreation District commission members meet at 6 p.m. at the Grayland Community Hall The District owns and manages the Grayland Community Hall and its surrounding grounds.
All community members residing within the boundaries of the Ocosta School District are automatically members of the Parks & Recreation District. Public attendance at meetings, participation and suggestions are encouraged and welcomed.
The commissioners usually meet the first Monday of each month.
Grayland Water District
June 7 - The regular monthly Grays Harbor Water District No. 1 Commission meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the Water District office located at 2058 SR105.
Meetings are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month.
North Willapa Artist Community
June 7 - The North Willapa Artist Community will meet at 6 p.m. at the Bayshore RV Park gathering room. The park is located at 2941 Kindred Ave. across from the Tokeland Hotel.
The group promotes the study and appreciation of art through exhibitions, fairs, lectures, classes and public displays in the Tokeland and North Cove area.

Outreach Spaghetti Dinner
June 7 - South Beach Christian Outreach (SBCO) will offer a fundraising spaghetti dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Living Hope Church, located at 617 S. Forrest St. in uptown Westport.
A $5 donation is requested to help defray the cost of your meal and to help neighbors in need on the South Beach.
The dinners are offered the first Tuesday of each month with the exception of December.
SBCO Board meeting
June 7 - The monthly South Beach Christian Outreach (SBCO) board meeting is held at 3:30 p.m. at Living Hope Church, located at 617 S. Forrest St. in uptown Westport.
Anyone interested in learning more about how SBCO helps neighbors in need in our community or volunteering to help is welcome to attend. The board meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Ocosta Booster Club
June 12 - The Ocosta Booster Club monthly meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the Ocosta High School library. All South Beach citizens interested in our schools are invited to attend.
The booster club provides financial support for athletic and academic programs, sports banquets, individual camps, state competitions, sports equipment and scholarships for students at Ocosta Jr/Sr High.
The club usually meets the second Sunday of each month.
Tokeland/North Cove Chamber
June 12 - Tokeland/North Cove Chamber of Commerce members will meet at Bayshore RV Park at 9 a.m. All individuals interested in the community, whether you are a business owner or not, are welcome to come and express your ideas and share your community needs

June 13 - Pacific County Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pacific County Courthouse Annex, 1216 W. Robert Bush Drive in South Bend.
The group meets in South Bend on the second Monday of February, April, June, October and December, with its annual picnic in July.
