Four members of Westport’s Todd-Jellesed family were involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident shortly after 4 a.m. Monday morning, March 9, on SR8 near McCleary. The family was returning from a three-day camping and hiking outing.
According to a State Patrol accident memo, driver Ethan A. Todd, 20, was westbound in the left lane on SR8 just east of Mox Chehalis Rd. when his 1999 Saturn SL1 4-door sedan left the roadway to the left, rolled and came to rest in the center median on its wheels.
Passenger Sarah L. Jellesed, 19, was injured. She was transported to Summit Pacific Medical Center by ambulance, where she was treated and released.
Passengers Orion A. Todd, 16, and Ebenezer L. Todd, 1, were uninjured.
Cause of the accident was determined to be the driver falling asleep at the wheel. Todd was charged with 2nd Degree Negligent Driving.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
According to the memo, no drugs or alcohol were involved and all four were using appropriate seat restraints.
