NORTH COVE— On Monday, May 25, at about 9 p.m., Deputy Randy Wiegardt and his K-9 partner Ciko were patrolling the North Cove area of Pacific County when he noticed a male subject standing near a vehicle parked at a residence on Willow Lane. Deputy Wiegardt recognized the male subject from previous professional contacts and discovered that the person had multiple outstanding warrants to include a Felony warrant.

Deputy Wiegardt and K-9 Ciko contacted the suspect in question. The deputy advised the suspect that he was under arrest for the warrants. The deputy attempted to place wrist restraints on the suspect and the suspect resisted.

The suspect also started to reach into his left pocket. He then broke free and began to flee. The suspect was warned that the K-9 would be deployed. The suspect disregarded the warning. Deputy Wiegardt deployed K-9 Ciko and after a short chase, the K-9 apprehended the suspect.
