For the past year, Westport residents Alex and Ashley Johnson have operated Jungle Technology mobile computer service specializing in PC systems in the South Beach area.
Saying that customer response has been strong, the couple recently made the decision to open a service center in the mini-mall at 722 N. Montesano St. The shop is located directly across the street from South Beach Vision Clinic.
Jungle Technology offers computer repairs and upgrades, web hosting and web design services and even system hook-up services to local campground WIFI if you are having difficulties.
Shop hours
Jungle Technology is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 .am. to 3 p.m. in Suite A at 722 N. Montesano St.
Open House Tuesday
Jungle Technology will hold a Grand Opening Celebration of its new storefront operation on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Limited mobile service
With the opening of the shop, mobile service appointments are still available, but on a scaled-back availability. Call 268-8214 for information or to make a service appointment Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Experience
Alex, the primary technician, has worked in the information technology field for many years. While serving in the U.S. Army, he was an Information Systems Operator Analyst. Holding a Secret Security Clearance, he worked on many highly specialized systems and was attached to a combat medical hospital as the Automation and Communications Sergeant.
After discharge from the Army, Johnson worked five years for Locating Incorporated as a systems administrator and regional support engineer. While there, he continued his education related to Windows Server.
In 2008, Johnson and his wife Ashley moved to Battle Ground. In late 2009 they opened Jungle Technology. Last year they moved themselves and their business to Westport, along with their young son, Lukas.
Precious Craftz
Ashley, who teaches Nutrition courses part-time at Ocosta, is sharing space in the front of the building to display and sell handmade items she has created under the name of Precious Craftz. Some of the current items available for sale in the front of the building include wine bottle tabletop tiki torches, driftwood wind chimes, heat packs, beach bags, along with a nice selection of hand-crafted jewelry.
Ashley started her Precious Craftz business while in college. “I’ve always loved doing different craft projects and wanted to share with others,” she said. Originally, Ashley sold her creations to friends and family and experienced such success, she went on to selling at Saturday markets and other events.
She is currently working on building an online inventory to go along with the craft items in the shop.
