Grayland residents Charlie and Trish Campbell recently welcomed a new ‘addition’ to their yard art in the form of a large shrub that Charlie recently carefully shaped into a human head, complete with a Mohawk haircut, bushy brows (no pun intended), a goatee and two shiny silver Christmas ornament ‘eyes.’
The result is a whimsical piece of living yard art that is proving to be extremely popular with passersby at 2929 SR105, just a little south of the Local Store. The Campbells say that you are welcome to pull into their driveway and look straight ahead to see the work.
When asked how he came up with the idea for his unique trimming project, Charlie said, “The top growth always looked like hair to me. I had been thinking of doing this for the last two years and finally decided to try it. A lot of people get a kick out of it.”
