Birding field trip to Bottle Beach and Westport Tuesday

Grays Harbor Audubon Society is sponsoring a free birding field trip in the Ocosta and Westport areas on Tuesday, Jan. 26. All interested birders are welcome to join the group.

Participants will meet at Bottle Beach State Park in Ocosta at 8:45 a.m. A Discover Pass is required. After birding the park’s interpretive trail, the group, led by Society Field Trip Chair, Judy Taylor, will carpool to Westport to check out Half Moon Bay, the Westport Marina, Westhaven State Park and other local birding spots, time permitting.

Those wanting a shorter day can meet with the main group at 11 a.m. at 3G’s Café & Deli in the Westport Marina District at the corner of Cove Avenue & Westhaven Drive near the Port Observation Tower.

The plan is to be back to Bottle Beach State Park by 2:30 p.m. just past high tide for shorebirds viewing.
