Artists from our coastal communities have donated art for an art show and sale to benefit the South Beach Arts Association (SBAA) and Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals (HAVA), both 501c3 non-profit organizations. The SBAA brings art classes for adults and children to our community and HAVA takes care of our jetty cats, rescues pets and is a no-kill shelter.
Join us for the Opening Celebration on Thursday evening, Jan. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the SBAA Community Arts Center located at 188 W. Ocean Ave. in uptown Westport. A silent auction of select artwork will be held at the Opening.
The show and sale continues Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Watercolor Raffle
Bring pet food any time during the show or opening to be entered in a raffle for an original watercolor painting of Elk River by Barbara Sampson. Each can of pet food or each pound of dry food earns one ticket entered into the raffle. The drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. You need not be present to win.
Silent Auction
A special silent auction will run the duration of the show for a large porcelain bowl created by Seattle artist Loren Lukens. This auction closes at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Art sale
All artwork that is not in the auction will sell for $20 each. There will be raffle baskets, daily door prizes, and bake sale items, too. Friday and Saturday, enjoy hot dogs for $2 and pop for $1.
Please come to the show and support the great work that HAVA and the SBAA do for our community. Members of HAVA and the SBAA will be on site to answer your questions about these wonderful organizations.
