Aberdeen’s Driftwood Players will hold auditions this weekend for “Five Women Wearing The Same Dress.” This adult comedy in two acts is written by Alan Ball and directed y Alex Eddy.
During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tennessee estate, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with her own reason to avoid the proceedings below. As the afternoon wears on, these five very different women joyously discover a common bond in this wickedly funny, irreverent and touching celebration of the women’s spirit.
Auditions will be held Saturday, March 5, at 10 a.m. and Sunday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Driftwood Theatre at 120 East Third Street in Aberdeen.
The director is looking for five women in their early 20s to mid-30s, and one man in his late 20s to early 30s.
Rehearsals will begin in March and continue through April with the show opening on Saturday, April 30.
