WESTPORT — Outshooting Mount Rainier Lutheran 23-0, Ocosta breezed to a non-league victory on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Westport.

Katelynn Denny scored on a direct kick for Ocosta’s lone first-half goal. Denny opened the second-half scoring by intercepting a clearing pass and converting from the edge of the box in the 56th minute.

Maia Soderlund drilled in a shot off a Denny pass and Kennedy Merino converted a Teal Mitby cross for the final goals.

The Wildcats (3-3, 5-3) were without three starters due to a variety of reasons and played with only one reserve.

Ocosta coach Mike King cited the passing of Mitby and Ryann Raffelson, the defense of Mercedes Denny and the overall play of Kianna Battiste.
