Tokeland’s Independence Day festivities will kick off with the annual parade and picnic Saturday, June 30.
The parade will start at 11 a.m. Participants should gather at the Marina no later than 10 a.m., and spectators should be settled in by 10:45. The road will be closed along the parade route.
Afterward, the picnic will commence on the Tokeland Hotel grounds around noon. Lunch will include a hot dog with beans, chips, drink and dessert. Donations will be requested to defray the cost.
There will be games for all ages. Prizes will be awarded for those and for the best parade participant.

Then, on Sunday, July 1, the annual Tokeland Trek will begin at 10 a.m. at the Tokeland Hotel. This community walk generally covers one or two miles and is family- and dog-friendly. The route changes each year and remains a secret until the Trek commences. Registration includes a sack lunch and a T-shirt.
