The Grayland Players will present the new musical “Sympathy Jones” Friday through Sunday at the Grayland Grange Hall.

Sympathy Jones dreams of being a super secret agent, but she’s stuck as a secretary until, one day, a confidential file is accidentally left on her desk. When she discovers the file contains information about a plot by the evil Kitty Hawk and Tick Tock to overthrow the government — and gain eternal youth — Sympathy seizes her chance for adventure and fame.

But she soon realizes that trying to save the world against impossible odds is not nearly as glamorous as she thought it would be, and she certainly can’t do it alone. The 1960s-era musical is fast-paced and campy, with 60s-inspired songs and dance numbers and over-the-top characters that will take you back to the caped crusader shows of the 60’s.

The historic Grayland Grange Hall is located at 2107 Cranberry Road in Grayland. There will be 7:30 p.m. performances May 10-11, with a 2 p.m. matinee May 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students age 12 and younger. Tickets are available at the door.
