This year’s South Beach Arts Association (SBAA) Holiday Market will be open daily Dec. 2 through Dec. 11 at the SBAA Community Arts Center in its new location in uptown Westport. The new gallery and classroom space is located at 800 N. Montesano St., next to Riley Jackson Real Estate in the building that formerly housed the Westport Post Office.
The annual Holiday Market features handmade one-of-a-kind gifts, art and decorations from local artists and crafters. You’ll find paintings, jewelry, fabric and yarn-based works, pottery, wind chimes and much more.
Don’t miss the fundraiser display of incredible clay creations at bargain prices. These would make great stocking stuffers or thoughtful yet economical holiday gifts for friends, neighbors and co-workers. Proceeds from this area will benefit the Association’s new clay studio nearby.
Holiday Market hours this season are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Holiday Card class
This Saturday, Dec. 3, the Arts Association is offering a $5 Holiday Greeting Card Make-and-Take class during the annual Holiday Market. Shop for unique handmade holiday gifts and decor offered by local artists, and enjoy this card-making class while you’re there. No need to register in advance, stop in anytime from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
New clay studio
The South Beach Arts Association opened its new Clay Studio June 18. The studio is located at 1200 N. Montesano St. in Suite 301, near the Westport Airport.
The Association offers clay classes and open studio times with four pottery throwing wheels, a slab roller, two kilns, two drying cabinets, large tables and tools for working with clay. A gift certificate for an upcoming clay class might be the perfect holiday gift for yourself or someone you know.
